The short version
- We never sell your information, and we never use it for advertising.
- We do not train AI models on your court orders, messages or records. Your documents are used to run your account, and for nothing else.
- Your co-parent sees only what your orders and the app are built to share: the shared calendar, accepted rules, requests and messages between you. They never see your private notes, drafts you did not send, or your payment details.
- You can export your full record at any time, and delete your account when you no longer need it.
Who we are
Decreely is operated by Decreely, LLC, a Utah limited liability company ("Decreely," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use getdecreely.com, the Decreely apps and our email and in-app notifications (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email and password.
- Court documents: decrees, judgments, custody orders, parenting plans and amendments you upload, and the rules Decreely reads from them.
- Family information: your children's names, birthdates and school details as they appear in your orders or as you add them, and your co-parent's name and contact details so we can invite them.
- Expenses and payments: receipts, amounts, payment requests and payment history. Bank and card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, not by Decreely.
- Messages: messages between you and your co-parent, drafts Decreely prepares for you, and your edits.
Information collected automatically
- Device and log data such as IP address, browser, app version and the pages and features you use.
- Notification delivery data, such as whether an email was delivered.
- Cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To read your orders and build your rules, calendar, reminders, expense splits and message drafts.
- To send the notifications you and your orders call for: exchanges, deadlines, holidays, payment requests and account alerts.
- To process payments through our licensed payment processor.
- To keep a complete, time-stamped record you can export, including certified records packages you request.
- To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet our legal obligations.
- To provide support and improve the Service using aggregated or de-identified usage data.
We do not use your court orders, messages, receipts or records to train artificial intelligence models, ours or anyone else's.
When we share information
We share information only in these situations:
- With your co-parent, as the Service is designed to: shared rules, calendar, requests, payments and messages between you.
- With people you invite, such as your attorney or a guardian ad litem, and only with the access you grant.
- With service providers who run parts of the Service for us under contract, such as cloud hosting, AI document processing, payment processing, and email delivery. They may use your information only to provide services to Decreely.
- For legal reasons, when we receive a valid subpoena, court order or other legal process, or when needed to protect someone's safety. Where the law allows, we will notify you before disclosing your records.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, under the protections in this policy.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Information about children
Decreely is for parents and their legal professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account. Information about children enters the Service only through their parents' orders and entries, is used only to run that family's account, and is never used for marketing.
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access by Decreely staff is limited to what is needed to support your account and is logged. Records are time-stamped and cannot be silently edited, so the history you rely on stays intact. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your information within 90 days, except records we must keep by law, and backups, which expire on a rolling basis. Because a co-parenting record is shared, messages and transactions your co-parent is also part of stay in their account under their own retention choices.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correct or export your information from your account settings, or by contacting us.
- Delete your account at any time.
- Choose which notifications you get, and unsubscribe from any email.
- Depending on where you live, you may have more rights, such as to know, correct or delete personal information, or to appeal a decision about a request. We honor these requests for all users, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
